Couple: Stepfan and Lorie
Wedding Date: May 7th, 2022
Love can strike anywhere even on social media. Lorie and Stepfan met on Facebook on April 6, 2016. Stepfan added her as a friend and sent her a message right away. Lorie didn’t respond since the message was instant, she thought it might be a scammer. After a few hours, Stepfan who was captivated by her beauty sent her another message, and she ended up messaging him back. Their love story just blossomed from that moment on. Every day she would receive a good morning text from him. Even if she didn’t respond, he never gave up. After two months of messaging each other back and forth through messenger Stepfan ask for her math. Lorie was caught off guard and didn’t understand. Stepfan explained that math was numbers and he was asking for her phone number. She thought that was pretty cool and she gave him her number. After texting for 4 months, they went on their first date. It was magnetic! They continue dating enjoying each other’s company, praying, talking and laughing together. It was a great year! Stephan ask Lorie to be his lady in May 2017. After years of dating, he asked her to be his wife on September 9, 2020.
What do you remember about the proposal?: Like any other day, I arrived to work at Lowes and facetime Stepfan to let him know I made it there safe. I was working and notice a guy came in with roses. My coworker and myself were wondering who the flowers were for. My coworkers told me the roses were for me. I tried to call Stepfan to thank him. I was standing at the customer service counter and notice Stepfan coming from around the corner. When I finished with the customer, I went over and told him thank you for the roses and we talked for a few minutes. I was telling him that I would call him when I got off, and he ended up grabbing my hand. I looked back and he was on one knee. That’s when he asked for my hand in marriage. The love of my life surprised me and my heart was racing from being in shock. It felt like a dream.
I remember Lorie being in shock and the customers cheering us on. I remember looking into my soon to be wife’s eyes as tears fell. At that moment, I thank God for such a wonderful gift he blessed me with.
What do you love about each other?: I love that we always put God first in everything we do. I love the fact that even though we have some up and downs, we never go to bed mad at each other. We always try to work out our problems together.
What do you like to do together?: We love to travel. Spending time with family and friends. Bowling shopping and just enjoying each other’s company.
